SEO optimization is a science in itself and there are many details involved, but generally, it refers to methods you can use to better position your website on search engines. Unlike paid ads, we are talking about organic results here, but as with all such results, this does not happen overnight.
Google thrives on offering users the information they seek, and that information should be simple and delivered quickly. If your website helps Google achieve this goal, you become its best friend and it will display your site at the top of something called SERP (Search Engine Result Page). In other words, when someone searches for a keyword that is well-explained on your website, a link to your website will appear on the first page of Google results.
What does SEO optimised content even mean?
It's content that you've tailored to users, the keywords they search for, and algorithms that regularly scan your website. The goal of such content is to drive as many people as possible to your website. The more people end up there and find answers to their queries, the more Google will push you as a solution to its users.
As we mentioned, the topic of SEO optimization involves many elements that are difficult to cover in one blog. What we will focus on here are blogs and what they can do for optimizing your website.
Blogs - an excellent way for Google to notice you
After you post a blog on your website, Google will index the new content. In some cases, this can happen after a few hours or a few days. When this happens depends on several factors, such as the authority of your website, how often you publish content, how optimized your website is for fast search, and so on. Google tends to crawl more frequently visited pages, pages with high-quality content, and pages that add new content more often.
Blogs are an excellent way to frequently add new and high-quality content to your website and thus attract the attention of good old Google. Determine the keywords for your business, how users search for your services or products, which topics in your industry you can comment on, and start writing blogs that will bring something useful to your audience.
How to write new blogs or improve existing ones?
When it comes to improving existing blog posts, start by checking if the information is still relevant. If it is, great! Add some new updates, recent information, a new photo, and republish it. When we search for something online, we prefer new and fresh informationand Google also values that kind of content more. Other things you can improve within existing blog posts include links, subheadings, and images, and the process is the same as for writing new blog posts.
LINKS
Keywords should be included in the blog link. Often, when publishing blogs, the generated link remains, so it is necessary to change it because those links are the first thing that Google indexes.
Example: https://torrisbranding.hr/drustvene-mreze-9-savjeta-za-bolje-rezultate/
In addition to the link to the blog itself, make sure you have relevant external and internal links in the text. External links lead users from your website to some other useful source (this can also be a link to your LinkedIn profile, it is just important that it is not your website). Internal links can lead users to another blog where you wrote about a similar topic, to your offer or contact, or to any other location on your website.
SUBHEADINGS AND USER EXPERIENCE
The whole text should be broken down into meaningful subheadings in which it would be good to mention the keyword around which you wrote the blog. It is good to repeat those words in the text as well, but don't overuse them if there is no need or it doesn't make sense.
Bold certain elements in the text to make it easier for users to scan the text because most people do not read it thoroughly, so make sure they catch the key information.
KEYWORDS
The easiest way to find keywords is through tools such as Keyword planner, you can even use ChatGPT for these things, or Google. When you enter a keyword around which your blog should be built, look for related search resultsat the bottom of Google's page. These are words and phrases that people often search for related to that topic and you can use them as keywords and questions around which you will write your text.
IMAGES
It's best, of course, to use your own photographs, create infographics that visually explain things not mentioned in the text, and so on, but even if you use photographs you've downloaded from other platforms like Shutterstock or free alternatives like Pexels, you need to customize them.
When you add a photo to the text, fill in the Alt text section and rename the photo using keywords again, so that your blog appears when someone searches for photos on Google using your keywords.
Another thing that's good to do with photos is to reduce their size to make your page load faster. You can do this quickly and easily through the TinyPNG.
There's a lot more to it, but this is a good start. These are tips related to the content itself and it's certainly easier to start from there. Deeper SEO optimization is worth the time and effort, but also requires certain knowledge and experience, so if that's too much for you, find an agency or experts who can support you in this.
